Embody Your New Self
Your future is dictated by three simple things: your beliefs, your thoughts and your actions.
Some believe that psychics or card readers can predict the future - and sometimes astonishingly so! But have you ever wondered if that really is the case or if they are just very good tools of manifestation, where we believe in what they say so much that we align ourselves on a new frequency and the predictions end up manifesting. Sometimes it can be easier for us to put trust in someone else than it is in ourselves.
But, guess what? If you put the same kind of trust in yourself, you can manifest anything you want.
Your beliefs dictate your thoughts, your thoughts dictate your actions and your actions dictate the results you get.
Let me give you a basic example related to money. Money beliefs play a huge part in our ability to manifest financial abundance.
Example of a limiting belief (that likely comes from childhood): We don't talk about money. Talking about money is bad.
Thoughts: "I don't want to look at my bank account because I don't want to think about money", "I don't need to ask for a raise or discuss my financial situation because talking about money is inappropriate".
Actions: I avoid money.
Results: Money avoids me.
Now, let's change the narrative...
Empowered belief: It's important to talk about money. Money is an important part of my life.
Thoughts: "I feel safe to discuss money with peers", "I can check my bank accounts without apprehension", "I know that money is key to my success and comfort".
Actions: I keep an active role in the management of my money.
Results: I feel safe to receive and give money. Money flows in and out of my life in a healthy way.
You can clearly see how everything starts from your beliefs. Uncovering our beliefs takes time and requires a deep sense of awareness. Most of the beliefs I uncovered in myself were deeply rooted and came into my conscious awareness by intentionally working on myself through some of the tools we learn in Yoga: meditations, mindfulness practices and self-inquiry.
It takes work but it is possible.
The first step is awareness. We live so much of our lives acting and reacting from unconscious beliefs, therefore bringing awareness is like shining a spotlight on the parts of ourselves that were hidden this whole time.
We don't see the world as it is, we see the world as we are.
One of the best things we can do to become aware of our beliefs is to look at our family and our upbringing. What phrases did you used to hear about money when you were younger? How did your caretakers talk about money? Was money linked to any particular emotion (fear, anxiety, apprehension, joy, etc)? Do you have any memories of situations that involved money? How do these situations relate to how you view money and abundance now? Keep in mind, we are talking about money here but this can be done with any parts of life; relationships, self-care, love, work, etc.
Finally, I would like to shine the light on another very important part of manifesting change in our lives.
Right between the Action Step and the Result Step, there must be surrender.
In Yoga we call this Isvara Pranidhana. The term ‘Isvara Pranidhana’ is made up of two words; Isvara, which translates as ‘Supreme Being’, ‘God’, ‘Brahman’, ‘Ultimate Reality’ or ‘True Self’ and Pranidhana, which means ‘fixing’. It represents the idea of ‘surrendering’ to this Supreme Being or higher self, which in essence means cultivating a deep and trusting relationship with the universe, and making each action an offering to something bigger than us.
Letting go of the results is a huge part of manifestation.
As long as there is anxiety and doubt around a subject, there will not be results, because our energy is not yet aligned with the result.
That is when visualisations can become useful; visualising and feeling yourself in the situation you wish to manifest because the body doesn't know the difference between what is real and what is imagined, therefore it will help us align our energy to the level of our new reality.
If you want to explore this further with movement, visualisation and intention-setting, I will be leading an online class called EMBODY YOUR NEW SELF on January, 7th 2023.
